Steve and Jo Sykes own S.E. Rentals Pty Ltd (SER) which is a medium sized finance brokerage business that has been running for almost 25 years, employing over 20 people. Despite the ups and downs of life in business, they have worked hard to ensure they can help those less fortunate. Their travels took them to Uganda where they saw things they could not ignore, and thus ChanCes Charity was born.

SER pays for all administrative costs for ChanCes and Steve and Jo personally pay for all travel, accommodation, etc, on their trips to Uganda.

Fundraising is carried out by ensuring that the financiers providing funding for SER, also include a small portion which is contributed to ChanCes. SER also has its own funding where this is done as well.

The result is that efforts at ChanCes are centered around helping people rather than raising money, due to SER paying all the bills and the arrangement with the financiers producing a small but regular income stream for ChanCes.
